Photographer’s Gallery Page Content Submission

We’ve emailed you a link to your own HSM dropbox folder. We'll use this folder to get your initial images and text into our hands so we can build your gallery page. We can also use it to refresh your gallery page in the future. (if you don't use DropBox, we can look at a different method of getting your gallery images into our hands)

Please gather and submit the necessary content required to create your personalized gallery page. This includes your professional headshots, bio, contact information, and any additional details you'd like to share with potential clients.

The Specifics:

  • Twelve images that best illustrate your personal branding and LinkedIn portrait style. We'll need these images sized at 1500x1500 pixels square (or as a rectangle with the longest dimension of 1500 pixels). These images should be saved as jpg in Photoshop (11 quality) and in an sRGB colour space. Please label the photos with your name and a sequential file number (this will help us post your photos in the order you'd prefer)  e.g., HeadshotsMatter_YourName_YourCity_01.jpg

  • Your current contact info including:
    - your name and/or studio name,

    - website address

    - email address

    - phone number (with country and area code)

    - your Instagram account

    - a link to your LinkedIn profile

  • A paragraph or two describing your portrait style and your headshot photography offering. It would be great if it also includes words like ‘personal branding, LinkedIn portraits and headshot photography’. These words and content will help the SEO performance of your page. 
We know that writing isn’t every photographer’s forte, so please know we’ll do a soft edit to finesse grammar and perhaps add a keyword or two.

  • A square self-portrait to accompany your gallery. (BW or colour) 


  • This last request is optional. If you have any short client endorsements / testimonials, that would be great. These words help tell your story and also add good SEO content to your page.

HSM Brand Authority

We welcome each new Associate Member to add 'Associate Member @headshots.matter' to their Instagram account and to use the hashtags #HeadshotsMatter and #HSMAssociate in their posts. We also welcome new Associate Members to add 'Associate Member' of Headshots Matter Inc. to their LinkedIn profile experience. Adding a backlink and the HSM logo to your website is another way to add brand authority and SEO helpfulness to the HSM Website.

Hashtags can significantly impact engagement on both Instagram and LinkedIn. Overall, using relevant and strategic hashtags on both platforms can enhance your visibility, engagement, and reach to your target audience. If you’d like we'll build and email you your very own city-centric hashtag lists, for both Instagram and LinkedIn.

On Instagram:

  1. Discovery: Hashtags help users discover your posts when they search for or follow specific hashtags. This expands your reach to users who may not already follow you.

  2. Engagement: Posts with relevant hashtags tend to receive higher engagement as they are seen by a broader audience interested in those topics.

  3. Community Building: Hashtags allow you to connect with communities and engage with users who share similar interests or are part of your target audience.

On LinkedIn:

Scheduling a WhatsApp or Phone Call 

A big part of Headshots Matter is becoming helpful friends, which we believe is best done through a voice-to-voice conversation on WhatsApp, phone or face-to-face on Zoom. We can schedule this via email, in the following weeks of joining and when it’s most convenient.
