1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?
For photography, envision the perfect session and to have that come to life. For my life, to have a soulmate, which I do.
2. What is your greatest fear or challenge?
I think this would be to overthink something so much, it paralyses me. This does happen, but then I just reset my thought process.
3. What trait do you most value in yourself?
I value honesty in my personal life and my photography. Honesty makes life so much easier.
4. What is the trait that you most value in others?
This would be the same, honesty; it covers so many aspects of life.
5. Which living person do you most admire?
The person whom I most admire and have met is Misha Collins, who has a firm grip on life values.
6. What is your greatest extravagance?
The one that stands out the most is when we spent one month in Thailand, a well-needed holiday.
7. What is your current state of mind?
Always thinking, always planning my next step... but also living day by day... life of a freelance photographer.
8. What do you consider to be the most underrated virtue?
Kindness, this is something I have always had, in hard times and good times.
9. On what occasion do you break the rules?
I break the rules when they don't fit with what I have in mind to get the task done. But for the most part, I stick to the rules.
10. What do you most like about your life?
I like the path destiny has chosen for me, transitioning from graphic design after 14 years and now as a photographer.
11. What quality do you most enjoy in someone you work with?
The quality I most enjoy in others' work is that I feel inspired. I do get a lot of inspiration from HSM members, one in particular being Mike Jean-Baptiste.
12. Which words, phrases, or gestures do you most overuse?
I use a lot of hand gestures during sessions, which speeds up the process of getting clients into position.
13. What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Firstly, my wife Elisabeth, my parents and all the beagles that have been in my life.
14. When and where are you happiest?
I have never been happier than I am now, here in Sweden.
15. Which talent would you most like to have?
I have always been a good artist, but I would love to be able to draw portraits as well as take them.
16. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
The ability to be able to say no. I have always been a people pleaser at the cost of my own well-being.
17. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Having the opportunity to shoot the great Oscar-nominated Swedish director, Lasse Halström.
18. Where would you most like to live?
Simple... Canada, for many reasons; one is that I have family there.
19. What is your most treasured possession?
Again, this one is kinda simple for me; it would be the beagles we have.
20. What is your favourite way to spend your time?
With the ones I love.
21. Who are your heroes in real life?
The heroes in my life were my parents.
22. What is your ultimate dealbreaker?
People who ask for a session and then say, "I have to pay?"
23. What is your greatest regret?
I have no regrets. If I had regrets, I wouldn't be where I am now.
24. What has been your favourite journey?
Meeting my wife and moving to Sweden—and all the stages through which photography has led me to this point.
25. What kind of legacy would you like to leave?
To have people stumble across one of my portraits and say, 'Yeah, that's kinda cool'.
